How it works:

Contestants will submit their best photo along with contact information, social media handles and a description of the photo via email to unpackingportland@gmail.com
 

The top 5 finalists will be announced on Friday, September 7th, 2018. The top 5 will be invited to join Nigel Barker for a mini photography master’s class in Portland, on Thursday, September 13, 2018, followed by the AC Hotel’s grand opening event.

The top 5 finalists’ photos will be on display at the grand opening event starting at 3:00PM.

 

The winner of the contest will be announced by Nigel Barker at the September 13, 2018 event. The contest winner will also have their photo featured in an upcoming issue of Portland Magazine.

 

The fine print:

All digital files must be 20 megabytes or smaller, must be in JPEG or .jpg format, and must be at least 1,600 pixels wide (if a horizontal image) or 1,600 pixels tall (if a vertical image).

Submissions must have been taken within 1 year before the date of entry.

By entering this contest, you agree to allow AC Hotel to display your photography at their September 13, 2018 grand opening event.

By entering this contest, you agree to allow AC Hotel to share your photos on their social media account with photo credit given to you.

Limit one entry per contestant.

Photos must be of or taken in, Portland, Maine.

Entries must be complete for consideration.

Photo Use Consent:

By particpating, the submitter hereby authorizes AC Hotel by Marriott, Portland, Maine the unlimited right to use, reproduce, and/or publish all written and/or visual materials, including photographs, videos or social media posts that may pertain to the Unpacking Portland photo contest. I understand that this material may be used in social media, press releases, photos and on the company website. As a result, I do not expect any kind of compensation for such use, and understand that any use of my likeness, voice or words will be in the public sphere for an unlimited period of time. This authorization is continuous and may only be withdrawn by my specific rescission of this authorization.
